Fetal heart rate estimation by non-invasive single abdominal electrocardiography in real clinical conditions

چکیده

Fetal heart rate (FHR) is the main feature for monitoring fetal well-being as recommended by International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO). The ultrasound based cardiotocography (CTG) nowadays world-wide non-invasive clinical reference technique intrapartum FHR monitoring, stated FIGO. However, some limitations CTG have justified interest alternative solutions, on abdominal electrocardiography (ECG). Their aim to extract a ECG signal (fECG), from which R peaks are detected deduce FHR. Nevertheless, most published methods require large number sensors, not suitable an expected use in real clinics. A novel methodology using single derivation then investigated estimation conditions. After maternal attenuation, source-filter model considered characterize resulting signal. Based non-negative matrix factorization its spectrogram, fundamental frequency source part estimated, corresponding Validation proposed carried out database. Compared selection other methodologies, our proposition presents best performance terms reliability similarity CTG. Evaluated 8 subjects, total 167 min recordings, mean ratio outliers lower than 25%. These good results conditions makes promising solution routine practice hospital departments.

Antepartal analysis of fetal heart rate variability by abdominal electrocardiography.

The success rate of some methodological factors influencing the antepartal analysis of fetal heart rate variability (FHRV) by abdominal electrocardiography (aFECG) were studied in 80 normal and 554 high risk pregnancies. The success rate of FHRV analysis was found to be dependent on the gestational age with virtually 100% success at 22 to 25 weeks and at 40 to 41 weeks of gestation. The lowest ...

Fetal electrocardiography: feasibility of long-term fetal heart rate recordings.

The feasibility and accuracy of long-term transabdominal fetal electrocardiogram (fECG) recordings throughout pregnancy were studied using a portable fECG monitor. Fifteen-hour recordings of fetal heart rate (FHR) were performed in 150 pregnant women at 20-40 weeks of gestation and 1-hour recordings were performed in 22 women in labour and compared with simultaneous scalp electrode recordings. ...

Clinical Fetal Electrocardiography *

Interest in clinical fetal electrocardiography dates back to 1906 when Cremer4 published two tracings apparently showing fetal deflections of about 0.5 mm. amplitude superimposed on the maternal electrocardiogram of a nine-months gravid woman. The records were obtained with a string galvanometer electrocardiograph with one lead on the abdomen and one in the vagina. During the next 25 years Foa7...

The use of non-invasive fetal electrocardiography in diagnosing second-degree fetal atrioventricular block

BACKGROUND Complete atrioventricular block in fetuses is known to be mostly associated with autoimmune disease and can be irreversible if no steroids treatment is provided. Conventional methods used in clinical practice for diagnosing fetal arrhythmia are limited since they do not reflect the primary electrophysiological conduction processes that take place in the myocardium. The non-invasive f...
